Shoreham-Wading River has once again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding support and commitment to music education.
The Best Communities for Music Education reaches K-12 schools and districts throughout the U.S. and offers opportunities to increase awareness and support for music programs. Shoreham-Wading River is among 1,000 districts and individual school sites that were recognized for having the highest commitment to producing exceptional music programs.
Shoreham-Wading River High School music coordinator Dennis Creighton lauded the district and Board of Education for the impressive support of the music program and staff over the years, noting their hard work helps create the environment that enables the music staff to do their best work.
Congratulations and thanks to our music teachers Cara Verity (Miller Avenue School), Erin Fasano, Christina Meli, Jenilyn Smith and Mark Verity (Wading River School), James Finnerty, Thomas McClafferty, John Samonte and Fred Volz (Albert G. Prodell Middle School) and Dennis Creighton, Kevin O’Brien and Ashely O’Connor (Shoreham-Wading River High School) for guiding, encouraging and inspiring our students.
